We are pleased to welcome Dr Alice Parkhill to the Victorian Legal Services Board. She has been appointed to a four-year term by the Lieutenant-Governor, as the Governor’s deputy, from 12 December.
Dr Parkhill replaces Catherine Wolthuizen as a lay member of the Board.
Board Chair Sam Hay KC said Dr Parkhill was a valued addition to the Board.
“Alice holds a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical and Forensic) and brings extensive experience across court, youth justice and clinical settings,” Mr Hay said.
“Her deep understanding of the justice system will be a significant asset to the Board’s vital work in promoting access to justice and protecting and empowering consumers of legal services.”
Dr Parkhill is currently a full-time member of the Adult Parole Board of Victoria and previously served as a Community Member of the Board from 2022 to 2024. She has also held senior roles at Calvary Health Care, including Head of Services, Acting National Director and Regional Director, where she led key governance and operational functions and managed portfolios spanning consumer engagement, strategic oversight and complaint management.
The Victorian Legal Services Board is an independent statutory authority responsible for regulating the legal profession in Victoria. They're integral to the effective implementation of the Legal Profession Uniform Law in Victoria, ensuring professional standards are maintained and consumers of legal services are protected.
