Professional misconduct under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic) + Unsatisfactory professional conduct under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic)

Pursuant to sections 296 297(1)(a) and (b) 298 of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria) the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found Mr Knight engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct and made the following orders 1. Mr Knight is reprimanded; 2. A recommendation to the Supreme Court of Victoria that Mr Knights name be removed from the Roll of legal practitioners; 3. Mr Knight not be granted a practising certificate until the expiry of five years from the date of this order; 4. Mr Knight is subject to a condition on any practising certificate obtained following the expiry of the prohibition order that he engages in legal practice only as an employee of a law practice within the meaning of section 47(1)(a)(ii) of the Uniform Law for a further period of five years; 5. Mr Knight pay the Victorian Legal Services Commissioners costs fixed in the amount of $40000.
