Professional misconduct under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic)

Penalty

1. Under section 146(4)(b) of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 1998 (Vic) VCAT directs that no person other than a party to the proceeding or their legal representatives may inspect the proceeding file. 2. Ms Dorcich is reprimanded; 3. Ms Dorcich must pay the Commissioner a fine in the sum of $15000 payable as follows: a. $5000 by 4 November 2024; and b. $1000 a month by the end of each month from December 2024 to September 2025. 4. Ms Docich must undertake 2 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) in relation to ethics and professional responsibility in a group setting with the Law Institute of Victoria or other organisation approved by the Commissioner in addition to the CPD requirements under the Legal Profession Uniform Continuing Professional Development (Solicitors) Rules 2015. 5. Ms Dorcich must pay the Commissioners costs of this proceeding fixed in the sum of $10000 payable on or before 4 November 2024.
