Professional misconduct under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Vic)

Wayne Wei Wong having pleaded guilty as charged is found guilty of one charge of professional misconduct within the meaning of section 297(1)(a) of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria) (Uniform Law) by engaging in conduct involving a substantial failure to maintain a reasonable standard of competence and diligence namely that the respondent allowed Ke Yuan Tan to remain at the law practice between 16 January 2017 and about 4 May 2017 and failed to adequately supervise and control him during that period. 1 Under section 302(1) of the Uniform Law Wayne Wei Wong is reprimanded. 2 Under section 303(1) of the Uniform Law Wayne Wei Wong must pay the Victorian Legal Services Commissioners costs fixed in the amount of $10800.
