One of the more common questions we are asked by solicitors is: 'What wording should appear on the stamp that I use to certify documents or witness affidavits'?

Together with the Law Institute of Victoria, we recommend that in addition to your name and address, you should include the following phrase: 

'An Australian legal practitioner within the meaning of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria).'
