The Victorian Legal Services Board welcomes the Supreme Court of Victoria’s decision today to remove suspended lawyer Glenn Thexton, also known as Mikel Alessio, from the roll of Australian lawyers.
The Board issued an application recommending that the Court make a strike-off order on the basis that Mr Thexton is not a fit and proper person to remain on the roll.
The legal profession plays a vital role in the community, and the public is entitled to expect lawyers to meet the highest professional and ethical standards.
This outcome reinforces those expectations.
The Court's reasons for its decision are to be handed down in due course.
