Sexual Harassment in the Legal Profession: Findings from the 2025 Victorian Lawyer Census 589 KB

The sexual harassment report explores the extent to which Victorian lawyers experience and witness sexual harassment during their work. It details the most common forms of harassment; the locations they most often occur in and the perpetrators. It showcases how underreported sexual harassment within the profession is and highlights key reasons individuals cite for choosing not to report. It reveals the limited progress that has been made towards ending sexual harassment within the profession, and calls for systemic intervention that focuses on cultural, attitudinal and behavioural change.

The report is authored by Dr Alice King, Dr Georgie Rychner, Prof Nigel Balmer and Dr Deborah Lawson.
