InTouch Multicultural Centre against Family Violence has been recognised for its work in tackling family violence in culturally and linguistically diverse communities around Australia.
At the recent Australian Migration and Settlement Awards, which celebrate the champions of cultural diversity, In Touch was honoured with the ‘Diversity and the Law’ award; one of eight individuals and organisations to receive an award.
The awards, held by the Migration Council of Australia, were presented in the Great Hall of the National Gallery of Australia.
Keynote speaker His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia, discussed his incredible and harrowing boat journey to Australia, and the importance of migration and multiculturalism within the Australian community.
InTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence received funding from the Board as part of the Health Justice Partnership in 2014-15.
