Call for expressions of interest in the 2017 Grants program funding
November 29, 2016
The Board is pleased to announce that expressions of interest are now being sought for the 2017 Grants Funding Round. The priority theme for 2017 will be on implementing the principles of justice reinvestment, with a focus on preventing women’s contact with the criminal justice system.
Justice reinvestment is an evidence-based proactive approach that focuses resources and effort on preventing crime instead of responding after the damage is done. It seeks to channel resources into programs focused on prevention of criminal behaviour in high-need areas, and aims to address the underlying causes of offending to improve outcomes for individuals and communities. In doing so, it has the potential to make the community stronger and safer.
Potential applicants should read the Guidelines for more information before completing the expression of interest form.
A limited number of projects that address early legal intervention and prevention strategies that do not involve justice reinvestment for women may be considered. Please contact the Grants staff to discuss your proposal.
The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 3 March 2017.
