Law and Cancer: Implications for clinical practice
November 23, 2015
The Cancer Council Victoria, in collaboration with the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, will host the symposium ‘Law and Cancer: Implications for clinical practice’.
Clinicians who work with cancer patients need to understand the law as it relates to the delivery of patient care, including the legal frameworks governing informed consent, medical negligence and end of life decision-making. The law is not always straightforward, nor well understood. The symposium offers recent research findings and discussion on the operation and understanding of the law in practice, with the aim of clarifying the law, patients’ rights and clinicians’ responsibilities in these areas.
5:30 – 7:30 pm
Wednesday 25 November
Melbourne Town Hall
90-120 Swanston Street, Melbourne
Refreshments will be provided.
